I remain convinced that you are a sorceress of the kitchen! A master of culinary illusion!

You're somehow related to burrito torturer and SF writer John Scalzi, aren't you?

I'm not but appreciate what I'm going to choose to interpret as a compliment very much!

Yes, and a bit of humor--Scalzi's notorious for putting things that don't belong in burritos into burritos. Actor Wil Wheaton started it all off by writing a series of aghast posts (they're friends, and Wheaton has done the audiobook readings for several Scalzi books) in response to Salzi's posts about making burritos with fillings like hotdogs, chocolate, mustard, and relish(!).

The idea of ketchup in an apple pie struck me as kind of similar....

Here's his personal blog if you're curious—he's written several really excellent pieces about White Male Privilege, Paying Writers for their Work, and the decline of Xitter, along with frequent pictures of his cats, dog, wife, adult daughter, and the farmhouse he lives in—https://whatever.scalzi.com/ .

Oh yes, I'm familiar! I followed him on Twitter for a long time, happy he's on Threads now.

Wow! I am really loving your post! Who ever would’ve thought ketchup would be good in the apple pie? Thank you so much for sharing!

It's so good. I do think it' needs more like 1/4 c to 1/3 c of ketchup, though. Or more apples.

Is, I read that and when I make it I’m going to use a little bit less catch up over at the extra apples like you suggested! Thank you for the important tip.
